A new list of the best hotels in the world includes safari lodges and idyllic beach hideaways, as well as three Massachusetts locations, according to a report from Travel + Leisure.
The report analyzed data from a 2023 survey of Travel + Leisure readers and determined the top 100 stays in the world.
The first Massachusetts hotel to make the cut is the Newbury Boston, which scored the number 52 spot.
The hotel is aptly located at 1 Newbury Street in Boston and offers a boutique Back Bay experience. Guests stay in rooms that come complete with Nespresso Vertuo espresso-makers, rainforest showers, and bespoke bath products.
The Newbury scored high with voters, getting 97.71 points out of a possible 100.
The second Massachusetts hotel to make the cut is The Wauwinet, a waterfront hotel located at 120 Wauwinet Road, Nantucket.
The coastal hotel came in at number 72 on Travel + Leisure's list with a score of 97.20.
The Wauwinet's rooms overlook a lush garden or the Nantucket Bay. Amenities include private beaches, a tennis court, and complimentary bikes to make your stay that much more enjoyable.
The number 75 spot was awarded to a Barnstable County hotel located in Brewster. The Candleberry Inn offers an elegant bed-and-breakfast experience in a historic building and carriage house.
The inn has only nine guest rooms, some of which come with fireplaces, patios, seating areas, and soaking tubs. All guests enjoy luxurious sheets, Turkish towels and robes, and a multi-course gourmet breakfast.
The intimate inn scored a total of 97.17 points from voters.
